BISTRO CAR
Talgo Bistro Cars basically consist of the following areas and
principal elements:
- A vestibule with two automatic sliding doors.
- A kitchen area.
- A lounge-bar zone.
- A longitudinal lateral corridor
along the kitchen side of the car.
- Two passage zones to the touching cars, located at the ends
of the car and with two cupboards in each, one for the elements
of the pneumatic and brake facility and another for the control
equipment and electrical switchgear for the car.
- The kitchen area may be adapted to the operator's requirements
for catering-type service. The following list is an example of
the possible appliances that the kitchen may be equipped with:
- One convection oven
- One electric griddle
- One microwave oven
- One ice cube maker
- Low furniture with space for housing the refuse container
- Two cold storage chambers suitable for housing three catering
trolleys, and two chambers for food containers
- One hood with electric fume extractor
- The kitchen-bar zone may also be equipped with the following
elements:
- An automatic action sliding door in the passage leading to
the coupling with the adjacent car
- A main bar
- Furniture consisting of two side shelves, including waste
containers
- In this zone, the installation of a small compartment for
the ticket inspector will be planned, fitted with a communications
door and control for the TV and PA system.
- In the interior of the bar, the following main items may be
installed:
- One set of furniture backed onto the bar, including a refrigeration
unit with upper and front access, a single-unit sink with
hot and cold water service and a set of shelves.
- One set of furniture, including a set of drawers, a cupboard
with shelves, furniture for the coffee maker with drawers
for the coffee grounds and a cold water outlet.
- A cupboard with a display showcase, wastepaper basket,
ashtray and fire extinguisher may be installed in the corridor
of the kitchen zone.
- All the furniture of the kitchen and the service zone of the
bar is stainless steel plate.
- The kitchen area has a hinged door for communicating with the
corridor zone, and has direct communication with the bar service
zone.
- The kitchen side of the car is equipped with four windows,
one of them in the bar service zone. The opposite side has five
windows, also fixed.
- The lighting for the lounge-bar zone is done with fluorescent
tubes installed in the sides and halogen lamps in the ceiling.
The normal lighting for the kitchen is carried out by means of
two fluorescent tubes. In the side corridor, fluorescent tubes
are installed above the windows and halogen lamps in the ceiling.
The lighting for the vestibule is done with fluorescent tubes
and halogen lamps.
- The service passage zone between cars is lit with halogen lamps.
The emergency lighting in all these zones is provided by some
of the lamps and tubes of the general lighting.
